A man from Las Vegas had raped a young child for years and at a certain point started filming the child rape acts. Last year, a bunch of images had been discovered in Syria while an internet server had flagged them soon after. Following this, the law enforcement authorities had identified the crimes pertaining to the indecent images, as the federal officials had stated. Later, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) agents had uncovered over 300 child pornography images in the accused’s Las Vegas residence.
The accused had been identified to be Andres Rafael Viola aged 37 years, who has been ordered to serve 35 years in the jail for those inhuman acts of child rape. The office of the U.S. Attorney (Department of Justice) for the Nevada district has announced on the 16th of September, 2020 (Wednesday).
The accused is an Argentine national who has pleaded guilty in February for the counts of child sexual exploitation along with the possession of child pornographic materials. The maximum sentence that he might serve behind bars goes to 50 years if he is found guilty.
During his years of sextortion, he had fed the dark web over a dozen child rape files that found its way to Syria. This caused Yahoo to flag those indecent images back in May 2019, as the officials had stated. Viola and the Syrian user who probably used to exchange those child porn images had used the Tor network that had permitted them to establish anonymous communication with each other on the internet.
The following month, law enforcement agents had visited the accused sex offender Viola’s residence where they had recovered an extensive collection of the child porn media, the officials mentioned. The accused was also summoned in the state court in February this year where he had negotiated a “global plea agreement”, as stated in the accused’s sentencing memorandum.
“Viola created, viewed, collected and uploaded images and videos that depicted the violent and morally repugnant sexual assaults of children,” prosecutors wrote in his sentencing memorandum. “All of the children depicted in Viola’s collection were victimized by his actions.”
